The hook

Somewhere between the yoga-pose grooming and the carpet cleaning, every cat produces something truly… magnificent. Collect your hairs, choke them down, and hope you can avoid the Cone of Shame, the groomer, and bath time. The Hairball! card is coming up fast… make it count.

How it plays

Deal 5 cards. On your turn: play one card onto your own Hairball stack, play one card onto any opponent’s stack, then draw one. Positives grow your pile; negatives shrink theirs. If you can’t make two plays, discard your hand and draw 5 fresh ones — you’re never stuck.

The Hairball! card is shuffled into the bottom half of the deck during setup. When it’s drawn, the game ends immediately. Count up your hairs. Biggest number wins.

Why you’ll love it

Turns are fast and the cards cycle even faster, so a whole game fits in under five minutes. Counter cards can swing a lead into a loss in an instant, and with multiple opponents every choice of who to sabotage matters. And the Hairball! card is always out there, lurking — every single draw brings the Hairball! card closer and has the potential to end the game. Every deck can handle 2 to 4 players or as many as 6 players for a quicker game. We suggest getting more decks if you want a longer play time or more players.
